Ken graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law. He majored in Mathematics and Computer Science for his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. His law school internships were completed at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office Juvenile Justice Bureau, and at the Champaign County CASA as Guardian Ad Litem for abused and neglected minors. During law school, he was the highest scoring student in Trial Advocacy and earned the CALI award for Trial Advocacy. Ken was also a member of the University of Illinois Trial Team.
Ken later joined the McDonough County State's Attorney's Office as an Assistant State's Attorney. He was promoted to the position of First Assistant State's Attorney in May of 2011. As an Assistant State's Attorney, Ken prosecuted well over 1500 felony and misdemeanor matters. Ken also prosecuted traffic and DUI matters including aggravated DUI cases involving great bodily harm and aggravated DUI cases involving death. His cases ranged from the smallest traffic matter to the most serious class of offense, class X felonies. During his tenure as an Assistant State's Attorney, Ken was the first chair for more jury trials than the combined total number of jury trials throughout the rest of McDonough County. Every single jury trial case resulted in a guilty plea or a finding of guilt.
Ken was recognized by his peers and elected the Secretary-Treasurer of the McDonough County Bar Association. Ken was later elected the President of the McDonough County Bar Association. At the conclusion of his presidency, Ken formed the Law Office of Ken Wang in July of 2013.
