As partner and shareholder of the Kleyman Law Firm, Val Kleyman assists families who are going through a divorce or child dispute. He serves people throughout New York City, including Queens, the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn, as well as those in Westchester and Nassau counties. Mr. Kleyman is the recipient of several honors; he is listed as one of The National Advocates: Top 100; the American Institute of Legal Counsel has listed him as a Family Law 10 Best; and he holds an Avvo “Superb” rating.
Few things are as life-altering as a divorce. It takes control over every aspect of life, including the person’s own self. Mr. Kleyman understands these impacts and helps people stay in control of a tough situation. His goal is always to obtain a resolution as quickly as possible, while keeping the focus on any children involved and the needs of his client. Part of his success as an attorney lies in the fact that he finds a strategy that works for clients’ individual cases, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
When he is not representing clients, Mr. Kleyman gives lectures on family law matters. When the Ashley Madison leak occurred, he was asked to appear on CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley to discuss it. Mr. Kleyman graduated from Syracuse University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and psychology. He then attended Brooklyn Law School, receiving a Juris Doctor in 2004. From the beginning, Mr. Kleyman has focused his practice entirely on family law, handling matters that involve divorce and family law, same-sex issues, child support and alimony, father’s rights, domestic violence, collaborative law, mediation, dissolution, child custody and prenuptial agreements.
